A Special Tribute to Princess Grace of Monaco on the 30th Anniversary of Her Death
In a special tribute to Princess Grace of Monaco on the 30th anniversary of her death, a sculpture inspired by her wedding gown will be on view in the Teresa Lozano Long Gallery. By Greek artist Nikos Floros, the work is made of woven pieces of aluminum cans and will be on view February 3 through February 24, 2012. This event’s opening was held in conjunction with An Evening in Monte-Carlo to benefit NMWA’s Legacy of Women in the Arts Endowment.
About Nikos Floros: Nikos Floros was born in 1970, in Tripoli, Arcadia, Greece. He studied at the School of Fine Arts (Ecole des Beaux Arts) in Paris as well as classical piano and classical theater in Greece. Nikos Floros lives and works in New York City and his sculptures are exhibited in museums and private collections. Nikos Floros’ pop art and surrealist sculptures utilize materials taken from our everyday lives which he reworks to create very unique and beautiful sculptures.
